A few things we love doing.

Holiday Assistance

Ross Township coordinates food programs for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter for eligible Ross Township residents. Donations from local business, churches, schools, service clubs, organizations, labor unions and generous local private citizens help us with providing holiday dinners for residents of Ross Township.

Christmas Party

Annual Christmas Party

Easter Egg Hunt

Invitations are limited to Ross Township children up to 4th grade. Flyers are distributed through the Merrillville school system announcing the date and time of this event. Fire trucks, hay rides, pony rides, face painting, a moonwalk and pictures with the Easter Bunny lead up to the Easter Egg Hunt.

Angel Tree Program

During the Christmas holiday season, presents and clothing are distributed to eligible children of Ross Township through special programs coordinated through the township office. Local businesses, churches, organizations, and generous local private citizens provide eligible children with the experience of opening presents from Santa Clause.

Back to School Assistance Program

Ross Township partners with the Merrillville Police Department and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #168 to assist children in back to school clothing and supplies.

Various organizations and individuals also donate back packs and school supplies.

Food Drives

Monetary and food donations support the Ross Township Food Pantry throughout the year.
